Grim Reaper's Eulogy
Wow! It's been a while since I've been nicely overwhelmed by a beer (ale). This is a fine example of what ales should taste like. There is a wonderful flavor from start to finish...yup, just tasted it again and had to be sure, without pinching myself! I would enjoy one of these again and again and again. And I can because I bought a Michelob sampler...so I will. The question is, will you do likewise?

Postmortem Brew Review
Amber, copper in color.
Hops and malt in fine balance.

Good foaming head with abundant lacing.
Medium bodied.
Delicious.

Grim Reaper's Eulogy
I will make no bones about it, this is one of my all time favorites. I found AB's Marzen a few years back. It was made in small batches and usually placed in the Michelob Winter Collection of beers. It became an instant hit and I have used it as a high water mark of a good Oktoberfest style beer. Nothing left to say but there's still 3 more left in the fridge...hooray!

Brain Damage Quotient = 3.6% ABV

Postmortem Brew Review
Opaque caramel color.
Double leveled, creamy head during pour.
Lacing so complete the entire glass is draped in foam.
Distinct smooth, creamy sweetness (vanilla?) throughout.
Medium bodied mouth feel.

Grim Reaper's Eulogy
As the say, it's...
1 for the money ($6.44 for four cans)
2 for the show (nitrogen widget with double foaming head)
3 to get ready (caramel color looking yummy)
........but this ale just doesn't go.

I tasted the malt....but not a bit of bitters. There's a hint of something sweet throughout but I can't make it out. It has a "widget" in the can to give the foaming action of the double tiered head during the pour.

Also disappointing; it has a very low alcohol content. I have heard of 'near beers' but not 'near ales'. Might as well add the NA (non-alcoholic) moniker and have a strong cuppa' Tetley's tea instead of this weak ale. It's even lost on the mother-of-all-beer-websites. Good luck finding the link.

Clear pale yellow.
Tremendous malty aroma with floral hints.
Light fluffy head with significant lacing.
Clean, crisp and an easy drinker.
Light to medium bodied.

Grim Reaper's Eulogy
Mmmmm...Bavarian pilseners! So aromatic, malty with the right amount of hops. This brew house has a variety to choose from on their website. No pithy puns needed here. I just want some more of these fine Warsteiner pilseners.

Postmortem Brew Review
Clear amber color.
Grainy aroma, neither malty or hoppy.
Fast foaming head with average lacing.
Medium bodied.

Grim Reaper's Eulogy
This beer is usually found in familiar 'oil cans' that are 25.4 ouncers. Those oz. are big like in the land of the Ozzie's, and just like Texas, everything is bigger in Australia. It's the only landmass that's a single country and a continent, save for Antarctica. It's hardly a surprise they are now affiliated with Miller Brewing in Texas, stateside.

Foster's flavor comes from their signature Ringwood hops. It's a cool brew meant to be served icy cold. Even the tap handles in bars are cool surfing 'long boards'! It doesn't get cooler than that, mate!
