Ybor Gold Amber Lager

Dead Soldier
Where to Dig Up More About This Beer
Ybor Gold Amber Lager
The Florida Beer Company
725 Silver Palm Avenue
Melbourne, FL USA
Est. 1994

www.floridabeer.com

Brain Damage Quotient = 4.6 % ABV
Fluid Oz. = 12.0

Postmortem Brew Review
Golden-red in color.
Smell of yeast, bread-like with hops aroma.
One finger near-white head that dissipated.
Medium carbonation with dry hops finish.
Light bodied and flavor.

Grim Reaper's Eulogy
Once located in the Tampa area, the Ybor City Brewing Company is no longer.  It 'lives' on in the Florida Beer Company, relocating the brewing operations to Melbourne, directly across the state on the east coast.  YCB merged with Key West Brewery and Miami Brewing Company in 2003 in an attempt to secure better distribution within "The Sunshine State."

The brew, a Vienna style lager, is an easy drinker. It is uncomplicated and profoundly better than "yellow" lager beers.  Definitely worth a try and good for whatever ales you!

Organic Wild Hop Lager

Dead Soldier
Where to Dig Up More About This Beer
Organic Wild Hop Lager
Green Valley Brewing Company
Fairfield, CA USA
Est. 2007
www.wildhoplager.com

Brain Damage Quotient = 5.0 % ABV
Fluid Oz. = 12.0

Postmortem Brew Review
Pleasant amber color to the point of a rusty orange hue.
Full, rich hop aroma.
Frothy head throughout most the glass.
Grassy aromas, wildflower field nose.
A little watery but an easy drinker.

Grim Reaper's Eulogy
Interesting beer and equally interesting website. The bill themselves as, "...the organically certified brewery of the Anheuser-Busch Company", according to the label. Sounds like AB had a little skunk works going with this one. But I must say it is a deliciously admirable beer.

Green valley is wholly committed to being organic, down to the labels on their bottles and even the raised lettering at the bottom of the bottle encouraging recycling. The reaper agrees...what comes from the earth, should return to the earth! Ashes to ashes and all that. I guess you should relieve yourself near a bush when through drinking. Muwa-ha-ha-ha !

The website is sparse but has a gadget that will look up where you can find this beer by zip code. Surprisingly, it's not shipped to Florida, but it got here somehow. I must find more.

Dos Equis - Ambar

Donde desenterrar más sobre esta cerveza
Cerveza Dos Equis Ambar
Cerveceria Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma, S.A.
Monterrey, NL Mexico
Est. 1897

Cociente del daño de cerebro
= 4.7 % ABV
Líquido onza. = 12.0

I'll leave you to the Spanish English riddle's up above, but sufficed to say, in plain English, Dos Equis is a Mexican beer originally brewed by German brewer Wilhelm Hasse. The "XX" roman numerals, (also known as the 'dos XX'), was named to signify the
arrival of the new "20th century", and so the bottles were marked with the two X's. It's okay, but don't run to the border for it.

Which reminds the reaper of the old joke, "If a plane crashes on the border, where do they bury the survivors?" Alas, survivors don't get buried, but you may want to bury this beer when finished with it. Que lastima!
